Rev. James R. Hulett, age 90, of Grand Rapids, MI, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 27, 2025.

Pastor Jim was a faithful follower and servant of Christ and humbly served as a strong conservative voice within the United Methodist Church. A man of integrity, Pastor Jim upheld the truths of the Bible and led by example. He found joy in his family, being active in the church and community, and as a member of various singing groups. He enjoyed the great outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and was an avid sports fan of all Michigan sports.

Jim is survived by his loving and devoted wife of nearly 70 years, Linda; children, James "Jim" Jr. and Jan Hulett, Julie and Tim Howard, Lisa and Steve Sikkenga, Christopher "Chris" and Erica Hulett; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jennifer Hulett (Hannah), Mike and Brittany Hulett (Wilder), Sharayah and Michael Gariepy (Griffin, Oona, Kian Link), Melissa and Juan Carlos Fierro, Courtney and Dave Schwarm (Ezra, Noah), Jon and Kait Howard (Emerson), Matt Sikkenga, Katie and Tyler Avink (Madelyn), Grace Hulett; sisters and brothers, Dawn Sumners, Dwayne and Naomi Hulett, Elwyn and Cynthia Hulett, Evelyn and Glenn Wegner, Linda and David Williaume; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Josephine Harris, Alice and David Sorrel, Pamela Goold, William and Diane Goold; many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Stroo Funeral Home, 1095 68th St. SE, Grand Rapids, 49508, on Sunday, November 16, at 2:00 PM with a visitation prior from 1:30 - 2:00 PM. The service will be live-streamed and can be viewed by clicking on the "Watch Live" tab on our webpage.
